Join Road Runner Sports as our next Email Marketing Manager.  In this role you will own the inbox experience for millions of passionate runners & walkers across 50+ stores and a booming D2C site.

What You’ll Own

  • Revenue Ownership & Forecasting – Set channel growth targets, build and refine forecasts, and deliver (or beat) the number through disciplined planning and continuous optimization.
  • Channel Strategy & Roadmap – Set the vision, testing plan, and KPI targets for email, SMS, push, and future retention channels.
  • Lifecycle & Trigger Programs – Build sophisticated automations that span browse, cart, post-purchase, loyalty (VIP), and retail visit benchmarks.
  • Creative Direction & Calendar Ownership – Deliver timely, on-brand guidance to design teams, weaving seasonal campaigns, co-op partner stories, and a robust content calendar into cohesive inbox experiences that delight our VIP customers year-round
  • Segmentation & Personalization – Leverage first-party data, dynamic content, and AI-driven recommendations to speak to each customer’s unique goals.
  • Data, Reporting & Optimization – Own dashboards, attribution insights, and rigorous A/B frameworks that translate performance into actionable next steps.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partner with merchandising, retail, IT, and marketing teams to align promotions, product stories, and inventory realities.
  • Team Leadership – Set clear goals, delegate smartly, and foster a culture of curiosity, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Experience You Bring

 

  • 7+ years driving email/CRM programs in an omnichannel retail or D2C environment; 2+ years leading direct reports.
  • Mastery of at least one enterprise ESP/CDP (Zeta preferred) plus hands-on knowledge of HTML/CSS, dynamic scripting, and QA tools (Litmus preferred).
  • Proven command of deliverability best practices—SPF, DKIM, DMARC, IP warming, sender reputation monitoring.
  • Data-driven mindset with advanced Excel/Sheets skills and familiarity with Google Analytics.
  • Track record of hitting or beating channel revenue goals through disciplined testing and campaign management.
  • Impeccable project-management chops: you juggle dozens of sends, still catch the missing comma, and never miss a deadline.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
