As a Retail District Manager you will be responsible for leading the midwest market's performance with a strategic yet hands-on approach to drive positive store profitability and supervision of all controllables including but not limited to; labor management, delivering consistent WOW customer experience, development of leadership, and driving a team first culture.

Key Responsibilities   

Team Leadership & Growth  

  • Attract, retain, develop, and guide Store Managers towards reaching business objectives, widening their overall business orientation, and achieving the company’s benchmarks 
  • Nurture a spirit of ownership, involvement, and ongoing enhancement at every level throughout the district you lead  
  • Carry out routine store visits to evaluate operations, demonstrate best practices, mentor teams to raise them to new levels, and offer practical insights while leveraging training materials and bench building plans 

  

 Operational Excellence  

  • Ensure store operations are faithfully being performed to standard including consistent adherence to company policies such as dress codes and that visual merchandising guidelines are met and operational protocols are being upheld 
  • Demonstrating a commitment to building and maintaining a safe store environment with adoption of safety programs, loss prevention, and fully compliant with company policies and procedures 
  • Demonstrate curiosity for efficiency in streamlining processes and enhancing operational effectiveness 

  

Sales & Financial Success  

  • Boost sales and profitability in all outlets through efficient strategizing, forecasting, and performance evaluations 
  • Handle district finances, labor expenditures, and costs to meet financial goals 
  • Examine sales data and Key Performance Indicators to spot trends and foster a selling focused culture while taking corrective measures as necessary  

 

Customer Engagement  

  • Our market distinguisher here at Road Runner Sports is our customer experience and as a District Manager you will ensure everyone on your team has a shared commitment on delivering an unparalleled experience to our customers within the market  
  • Keep your thumb on the pulse of what our customers are experiencing in our stores and throughout the community by reviewing secret shops, NPS (Net Promoter Scores) Scores, review feedback, direct interactions with our customers, and continue enhancing their experience   

 

Strategic Implementation  

  • Execute corporate strategies, promotional campaigns, and company branding across the district  
  • Find and develop new revenue opportunities in your market through community partnerships, business relationships, and identification of unique ways to leverage our unique mobile retail concept  
  • Collaborate with interdepartmental teams (HR, Marketing, Merchandising, etc.) to reinforce both district and company aims while building strong cross-functional partnerships 
  • Devising and executing district-specific plans to realize immediate and long-term business targets 

  

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or related field (preferred) 
  • 5+ years of multi-unit retail management experience, preferably in a high-sales volume environment 
  • Ability to travel to varying retail locations within your assigned retail district  
  • Proven success in driving sales performance, managing budgets, and developing teams 
  • Willingness to learn and embrace change in a fast-paced environment 
  • Strong detail orientation and problem-solving mindset  
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written to ensure communication is clear and concise   
  • Excellent MS Office skills 
  • Ability to work full-time, including variable hours such as weekends and/or holidays as needed
